Dyadic Transnational Terrorism Data
Transnational terrorism is a complex, multinational phenomenon, yet existing dyadic data tend to be proprietary or limited in scope. This produces barriers for replication and generating new research. Towards that end, we developed a method to generate a transnational dataset using the publicly-available Global Terrorism Database (GTD), available here. The method is based on the premise that terror groups have a domestic agenda that is tied to their "home," which can be discerned based on the group's patterns of attack. This home is seen as the source country of the attack, allowing for the construction of dyadic or even k-adic data. The dataset provides dyad-year data that includes information on the number of attacks and the number of fatalities that originated in a given source country and targeted a second county.

GTD Add-on: Domestic and Transnational Variables
This dataset, available here, is at the attack-level, with one observation for each target country of terror attacks. The dataset is based on the GTD data, and can be merged into the GTD data to be used in conjunction with other available information. This dataset has information on each group's home country and variables on whether the attack is transnational. We also include information on how the attack was coded by Enders, Sandler, and Gaibulloev (2011) for the sake of comparison. Information on the processed used
